Perhaps a missed opportunity with David Noonan on Burgess Dream yesterday who we mentioned was in our tracker. We didn’t see it coming so early after pulling up on seasonal debut and produced a battling performance to win at the line 🙁

Today there’s very average looking fayre on offer at Uttoxeter and Fontwell – at the former (15.00) Caroline Bailey’s Global Domination looks one for the lumpers and should make more than just a C5 charge.

We have a sole selection for members going at Fontwell.

For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….we’ve now over a 36% win/place strike rate with an ROI of nearly 25%…..our bank is now £1079.48 and current stakes are now £13.49 EW

12.30 Sun Racing Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (5) 2m3f207y

Timeform Top Rated
113p 1. STOP TALKING Jennie Candlish Jonjo O’Neill Jr. (5)
111 8. NEETSIDE David Dennis Brian Hughes
109 10. MARONETTE Tim Vaughan Alan Johns

Analyst’s Verdict:
Stop Talking escapes a penalty for her recent Ludlow win so the hat-trick looks on the cards against an averagely-treated bunch. The application of cheekpieces may help Neetside and she’s second choice, with Katebird also of interest.

1.00 Chenet Ice Handicap Hurdle (4) 1m7f168y

Timeform Top Rated
123 2. ANTUNES Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
120 1. SOLO SAXOPHONE Dan Skelton Bridget Andrews
118 6. ALLITERATION Jo Hughes Danny Cook

Analyst’s Verdict:
A bad mistake didn’t do Antunes any favours in a competitive Cheltenham handicap on his reappearance and he’s worth another chance in these much calmer waters. His stablemate Solo Saxophone has struggled so far this season but could fare better dropped in class, while juvenile Alliteration should be up to doing something from this opening mark.

1.30 Dove Valley Marquees Beginners’ Chase (3) 2½m

Timeform Top Rated
152p 14. NOW MCGINTY Stuart Edmunds Tom O’Brien
150p 8. HUNTSMAN SON Alex Hales Kielan Woods

Analyst’s Verdict:
A race that is sure to throw up plenty of winners, with the narrow vote in favour of Chef des Obeaux. He ended last term on a low-key note but had previously looked a horse to follow when landing a Grade 2 hurdle at Haydock and it would come as no surprise to see him bounce back now chasing. Huntsman Son, Lovenormoney and Midnight Maestro are a trio of others to consider.

2.00 Calvet Classic Maiden Hurdle (4) 1m7f168y

Timeform Top Rated
121p 7. KITIKAT Jonjo O’Neill Richie McLernon
120p 3. EUR GONE WEST David Pipe Tom Scudamore
117 4. FROM THE HEART Philip Hobbs Tom O’Brien

Analyst’s Verdict:
This isn’t a deep race, so Esprit du Large is chanced after shaping much better than the result in a warm bumper at Chepstow last month. Eur Gone West and From The Heart are a couple of others likely to feature.

2.30 Lilquest Asbestos Handicap Hurdle (4) 2m7f70y

Timeform Top Rated
129 6. FLYNNVINCIBLE Olly Murphy Aidan Coleman
128§ 5. THREE STAR GENERAL David Pipe Tom Scudamore
126 1. QUICK PICK Jennie Candlish Sean Quinlan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Flynnvincible is in excellent hands so it would come as no surprise were he to take a big step forward now venturing into handicaps after a break. Volcano should also have more to offer, while Three Star General is another to consider having been eased in the weights.

3.00 @Uttoxetertwit Handicap Chase (5) 2½m189y

Timeform Top Rated
112 4. GLOBAL DOMINATION Caroline Bailey Harry Skelton
109 1. COUGAR’S GOLD Peter Bowen Sean Bowen
109? 3. HURRICANE RITA Conor Dore Tom O’Brien

Analyst’s Verdict:
Global Domination continued his good run of form when third on his comeback here and appeals as the most solid option. Kalaskadesemilley took a step back in the right direction over hurdles here and is feared most back over fences.

3.30 Envirostik Holdings UK Standard Open National Hunt Flat (5) 1m7f168y

Timeform Top Rated
115 6. JUST ROCKY Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
113+ 8. NORTH STAR OSCAR Warren Greatrex Gavin Sheehan
101+ 3. FORTESCUE Henry Daly Hugh Nugent (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
The race North Star Oscar contested on his C&D debut looked strong (sixth won over hurdles since) and he’s taken to build on that promising effort and strike at the second time of asking. Market confidence behind the Harry Fry newcomer Get In The Queue would make him a major threat, while Just Rocky is also respected on the back of his Warwick debut fourth in the spring.
