Today’s Selections

Catterick 16.40

Jason Hart gets a nice low draw on John Quinn’s INDIAN PURSUIT who has an excellent course record. He possibly has the most pace from that side of the draw and if the rain continues that should help further. He has a near 50% record in this grade and the drop back to C6 following that 5th here to Extrasolar still means he is well in.

There’s plenty of 8’s about this morning for him.

Catterick 16.40 – Indian Pursuit

Catterick 17.10

Another dropping back in grade is PEARL ACCLAIM who similar to the previous race holds most of the pace from the lower half of the draw that should be seen to advantage.

Another course winner with a similar over 50% win/place strike rate when dropped to C6 he looks too big at a best priced 16’s if running somewhere near to his winning run here two races back……and also even higher rated when with David O’Meara.

We’re taking the general double digit 16’s about him though with FOUR PAYING PLACES with Betfred

Catterick 17.10 – Pearl Acclaim

2.00 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Median Auction Stakes (5) 5f212y

Timeform Top Rated
90 2. BEECHWOOD IZZY Keith Dalgleish Connor Beasley
85 1. PRINCE ELZAAM David O’Meara Daniel Tudhope
84p 11. ROYAL DESTINY Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Royal Destiny is expected to take another step forward and make her third start a winning one. No Bills caught the eye at Beverley on debut and is also open to improvement, while Beechwood Izzy has the form to play a part, even under her penalty.

2.30 Racing UK Club Day Here Today Handicap (6) 5f

Timeform Top Rated

82 9. BOUDICA BAY Eric Alston Rachel Richardson
81 10. ANOTHER SITUATION Richard Guest Philip Prince (3)
80 14. YOUR JUST DESSERTS Richard Whitaker Joe Fanning

Analyst’s Verdict:
Competitive stuff, but Boudica Bay is all speed, so she could be the answer dropped in trip/grade. Sienna Says tasted success last time but has a double-figure draw to overcome, so Life for Rent and Your Just Desserts are feared most.

3.00 2018 Catterick Twelve Furlong Series Handicap (6) (D.I) 1½m13y

Timeform Top Rated
75 1. SWANSWAY Michael Easterby Cam Hardie
74 3. CALLIOPE Kenneth Slack James Sullivan
74 6. ALBERT BOY Scott Dixon Paul Hanagan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Swansway has been unlucky on a couple of occasions this season, and given he landed a C&D contest the last time he tackled this sort of grade last summer, he looks primed for a big run. Calliope is pretty reliable, while Jaquar could easily up his game now handicapping

3.35 2018 Catterick Twelve Furlong Series Handicap (6) (D.II) 1½m13y

Timeform Top Rated
74 4. TRAUTMANN Rebecca Menzies Paul Hanagan
73 1. WOTABREEZE John Quinn Jason Hart
73 3. CLENYMISTRA David O’Meara Daniel Tudhope

Analyst’s Verdict:
A competitive handicap and a chance is taken on King’s Coinage, who is well below his last winning mark and shaped noticeably better than the result when fifth of 17 at Thirsk last month. Trautmannn and Clenymistra complete the shortlist.

4.05 Get So Much More With Racing UK Handicap (4) 7f6y

Timeform Top Rated
97 9. SAISONS D’OR Jedd O’Keeffe Jack Garritty
96 6. KNOWING GLANCE Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan
95 1. WEELLAN David O’Meara David Nolan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Winner of a C&D maiden in July, Saisons d’Or posted his best effort yet when third in a big-field Redcar handicap last time and is taken to maintain his 100% course record. Knowing Glance has failed to build on the promise of his reappearance victory at Carlisle in 2 subsequent starts, but will be a danger to all if taking a turn back in the right direction here. Iron Sky makes each-way appeal.

4.40 Watch More With Racing UK Extra Handicap (6) 5f212y

Timeform Top Rated
83 4. MUNFALLET Adrian Nicholls Andrew Mullen
82 2. STRAIGHTOTHEPOINT Bryan Smart Graham Lee
80 1. MESHARDAL Ruth Carr James Sullivan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Munfallet produced his best effort of the season so far when third on debut for this yard at Thirsk recently. The 7-y-o is taken to reverse placings with the runner-up there, Peachey Carnehan, and emerge on top this time. While Peachey Carnehan should again give a good account, four-time C&D winner Meshardal and the consistent Straightothepoint may prove most troublesome.

5.10 Racing UK Extra On racinguk.com Handicap (6) 5f

Timeform Top Rated
82+ 1. CAPTAIN LARS Archie Watson Edward Greatrex
81 9. COMPTON RIVER Bryan Smart David Allan
80 2. SEAMSTER David Loughnane Laura Coughlan (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Captain Lars has had a remarkable year, recording his 8th victory at Ffos Las last week and more importantly his first on turf. He looks to have been well placed again here and seems sure to give another good account under a penalty. Lexington Place and Seamster head up the opposition.

5.45 Racing Again Saturday 22nd September Handicap (Gentleman Amateur Riders) (5) 1m5f192y

Timeform Top Rated
93 7. THE RESDEV WAY Philip Kirby Mr Henry Newcombe (7)
91 1. HAWRIDGE FLYER Rod Millman Mr Patrick Millman
90 2. ORSINO Seb Spencer Mr Kaine Wood

Analyst’s Verdict:
The manner in which The Resdev Way dispatched his rivals over C&D a fortnight ago was impressive, so a 4 lb rise looks to be lenient. Hawridge Flyer was better than the result at Windsor last week and is feared most, though Arcadian Sea should be very competitive starting out for a new yard.

Today’s Bets……..

Good luck if you’re going with our each-way selections today….

Catterick 16.40 – Indian Pursuit

Catterick 17.10 – Pearl Acclaim

(Current stakes are £33.08 EW for those backing the 1.25% EW on the £1k to £10k)
