Tuesday – 16th October 2018

After knocking on the  door with Dourado yesterday, Richard Fahey’s GABRIAL THE TIGER came home with a pillar to post win under Paul Hanagan much as we had suggested to get us back up to near the £4k mark.

Just a day of turf action at Leicester below with Timeform below and the C2 Wreake Handicap as the feature (15.05) – nothing in that for us and we’re looking at the latter two handicaps of the afternoon.

In the the first of those (17.10) maiden Narodawa looks somewhere near after a light campaign for David Lanigan – breeding suggests she may find this a bit heavy but is one we will be watching next year after some solid efforts this term.

We’ve just one for members below going in the last.

That’s pushed us to OVER £3,700 on our £1k to £10k …..for those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 260% with an ROI of over 30%….current stakes are now £47.04 EW

2.00 British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (4) 1m53y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 96 90 88 90 96 (Avg 92)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Plenty of potential on show, but Global Heat ran to a useful level on debut and is difficult to oppose with improvement very much on the cards. Faro Angel was awarded a race here 3 weeks ago, shaping as if capable of considerable improvement. Laafy is another capable of better.

Timeform Top Rated:
101p 4. GLOBAL HEAT Saeed bin Suroor Oisin Murphy
92 2. QUINTADA Mark Johnston Franny Norton
90P 1. FARO ANGEL Luca Cumani Jamie Spencer

2.30 Whissendine Selling Stakes (5) 7f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Not many that make appeal in this seller and Slipstream has a good chance to resume winning ways back on turf. Lady Alavesa leaves the impression that she may be better on AW but is hard to ignore on the pick of her efforts this year. Fortunate Vision is interesting starting out for an in-form stable.

Timeform Top Rated:
97 9. LADY ALAVESA Gay Kelleway Josephine Gordon
85? 1. FORTUNATE VISION Mark Walford Jason Hart
82 2. SLIPSTREAM Michael Appleby Luke Morris

3.05 Wreake Handicap (2) 7f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lord Oberon showed useful form when a close second at Haydock last time and is still on the upgrade. Hajjam arrives on the back of a career-best win at Ayr and has to be respected, while Good Effort is another progressive 3-y-o.

Timeform Top Rated:
119 1. MUNTADAB Roger Fell Cameron Noble (5)
118 4. HAJJAM David O’Meara David Nolan
116 2. SHADY MCCOY Ian Williams Ryan Moore

3.35 ebfstallions.com Reference Point Maiden Stakes (Sire And Dam-Restricted) (4) 7f

Analyst’s Verdict:
A hot maiden. Estihdaaf and Red Armada have already run to a useful level and will win races. Slight preference is for the former who improved markedly from his first run to his second. Monsieur Noir has a bit to find, but is capable of better himself.

Timeform Top Rated:
105 7. RED ARMADA Clive Cox Adam Kirby
104 2. ESTIHDAAF Saeed bin Suroor Oisin Murphy
95p 5. MONSIEUR NOIR Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni

4.05 Stubbs Fillies’ Conditions Stakes (3) 6f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Come On Leicester sets a good standard for a race of this nature and will be hard to beat. Gospel has a bit to find but improved from her first run to her second, and remains with potential.

Timeform Top Rated:
108 2. COME ON LEICESTER Richard Hannon Jim Crowley
99p 4. GOSPEL Mick Channon Ryan Moore
97 3. EXCELLED James Fanshawe George Wood

4.40 Fosse Way Nursery Handicap (6) 1m53y

Analyst’s Verdict:
The market support for Miss Green Dream at Chelmsford was significant and her supporters never really stood a chance after she started slowly. She could prove a different proposition now handicapping if breaking on terms. Sesame probably has a race in her, while Royal Dancer and Fflur are interesting among a number of others tackling a nursery for the first time.

Timeform Top Rated:
72 4. SESAME Michael Appleby Alistair Rawlinson
69 8. HAVANA OOH NA NA K. R. Burke Non Runner
69? 10. YELLOW FIRE Mark Johnston Franny Norton

5.10 Stewards Handicap (5) (D.I) 1¼m

Analyst’s Verdict:
My Boy Sepoy beat a subsequent winner at Bath last time and remains unexposed at this trip. Purple Rock came close to ending his losing run at Nottingham and makes the shortlist, along with the improving Dagian.

Timeform Top Rated:
90 5. MY BOY SEPOY Stuart Williams Fran Berry
89 3. DAGIAN Amanda Perrett Jim Crowley
88 1. PURPLE ROCK Gay Kelleway Ray Dawson (5)

5.40 Stewards Handicap (5) (D.II) 1¼m

Analyst’s Verdict:
Channel Packet’s stamina came into play when winning here (7f) last week and races off only 1 lb higher back up in distance. Crystal King failed to do himself justice on his handicap debut at Lingfield but has been given a break since and could well bounce back. The Jean Genie can place again.

Timeform Top Rated:
94 14. CHANNEL PACKET Michael Appleby Mark Crehan (7)
91 15. MARBLE BAR Henry Candy Nicola Currie (3)
88 10. RUNNING CLOUD Eve Johnson Houghton Martin Harley
