A cracking meet at Redcar in terms of our approach with some nice looking handicaps to have a poke at with a few of our past winners back out. Aside from that there’s just Yarmouth on the turf with no interest there but for anyone looking there is supporting Timeform.

Looking at Catterick (17.10) – Clenymistra goes who last week couldn’t go the pace with easy winner,  Airplane but still at a winning mark (…..see last weeks review notes) though too short for us with around 7/2 on offer in a C6 – we think we have better value for members below so will pass that one over.

Looking back at yesterday, although there was no members selections there was another winner from the intro notes as Kirkland Forever landed at 3/1 for EJH and Charles Bishop at Brighton.

1.50 Robert Eustace 50th Birthday Nursery Handicap (4) 1m3y

Timeform Top Rated
93p 1. MASSAM Mark Johnston Richard Kingscote
89 4. WHENAPOET Michael Appleby Royston Ffrench
88 2. LETHAL GUEST Mick Channon Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Massam duly built on the promise he showed in novice events when landing a Class 2 nursery on the AW recently. The Dubawi colt is armed with potential and should have little trouble following up down in class here off a 6 lb higher mark. Whenapoet appears to be getting the hang of things judged on his latest effort and is marginally preferred to Lethal Guest for forecast purposes.

2.20 British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (4) 6f3y

Timeform Top Rated
96p 5. SWINDLER Ed Walker William Buick
92p 1. EXCELLED James Fanshawe Daniel Muscutt
70 7. TORO DORADO Ed Dunlop Jack Mitchell

Analyst’s Verdict:
Saeed bin Suroor has saddled a couple of winning 2-y-o newcomers this month and Dubai Opera could be another. She looks the part on paper and confidence behind her in the betting would look significant. Swindler was just touched off on debut at Windsor and is a big threat, while Mubakker is another noteworthy newcomer. Excelled made a winning C&D debut, but this will be tougher under a penalty.

2.50 Dan Hague, Yarmouth’s Number 1 Bookmaker Handicap (2) 1m3f104y

Timeform Top Rated
124+ 6. GREAT BEYOND Roger Charlton Jimmy Quinn
115p 5. HAMLUL Sir Michael Stoute Richard Kingscote
113 3. PROTECTED GUEST George Margarson Jane Elliott (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
If at least matching the form of his recent AW demolition job back on turf, Great Beyond will take some stopping. Indeed, this well-bred colt may have more to offer given that he has just 5 runs under his belt and looks a sizeable step ahead of the handicapper off this mark. Hamlul was third in a competitive contest at Goodwood and is clear next best ahead of Protected Guest.

3.20 La Continental Cafe of Great Yarmouth Handicap (6) 1m3f104y

Timeform Top Rated
80 2. LONG CALL Tony Carroll Oisin Murphy
76 9. TYRSAL Clifford Lines Paddy Pilley (3)
75 3. WIDNES Alan Bailey Jessica Cooley (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Long Call escapes a penalty for last week’s decisive success at Leicester and a reproduction of that performance will make him a tough nut to crack. He has little to fear from Right About Now on that evidence and it could be that Albert Boy and Tyrsal will emerge as the main dangers.

3.50 Moulton Nursery of Acle Handicap (5) 6f3y

Timeform Top Rated
87 1. DANECASE David Dennis Martin Harley
86 7. LA FORTUNA Charlie Wallis William Carson
85 8. KRAKA Christine Dunnett Jimmy Quinn

Analyst’s Verdict:
Danecase has posted several solid efforts in defeat off higher marks than this already in 2018, and he possibly needed the run at Windsor following a two-month break. The 5-y-o could be the answer to what this openlooking contest. La Fortuna has already more than paid her way this year and should give it another good shot, while Case Key and Kraka are others with strong each-way claims.

4.20 Grosvenor Casino of Great Yarmouth Novice Stakes (5) 6f3y

Timeform Top Rated
85p 3. HEAVENLY GUEST George Margarson John Egan
78 5. POYLE GEORGE TWO Ralph Beckett Oisin Murphy
75p 1. DOSC David O’Meara Martin Harley

Analyst’s Verdict:
Heavenly Guest took a big step forward when third over 7f at Kempton and, providing this step back in trip doesn’t inconvenience him, he will prove hard to beat with further improvement anticipated. Poyle George Two showed enough at Southwell last month to suggest that he should go well in a race of this nature, while recent Newcastle winner Dosc also needs considering, despite his penalty.

4.50 Wainwright Golden Ale Handicap (4) 5f42y

Timeform Top Rated
100 1. WAR WHISPER Paul Midgley Oisin Murphy
98 3. ARZAAK Chris Dwyer Lewis Edmunds
96 8. GRANDFATHER TOM Robert Cowell Eoin Walsh (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
The most appealing of these is comfortably War Whisper, who went down all guns blazing at Musselburgh last time and is just 1 lb higher here. Arzaak will be a threat if at his best, but he needs to bounce back following a few low-key displays. Bigger threats may be posed by Equimou, who has slipped to a potentially handy mark, Grandfather Tom and Wiff Waff.
