12.15 Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle (Listed) (1) 2½m56y

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 143 151 147 152 158 (Avg 150)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Preference is for I Can’t Explain, who looked a very bright prospect when making a winning Rules debut at Sandown last month. He can go on to better things, though Anemoi and Darlac should provide stern opposition.

Timeform Top Rated:
155p 4. I CAN’T EXPLAIN Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville
154p 2. ANEMOI Harry Whittington Gavin Sheehan
153 3. DARLAC Colin Tizzard Richard Johnson

12.50 Join The Betbright Racing Club Handicap Chase (2) 3¼m70y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Some Chaos failed in his bid to make it 3-3 in this sphere at Wincanton but he found just an unexposed rival too strong, and in turn finished well clear of the rest. The 8-y-o remains open to improvement as a chaser and should prove a tough nut to crack. Robinsfirth is very much of interest despite the 382-day lay-off and may emerge as the main danger ahead of Rolling Dylan and Thomas Crapper.

Timeform Top Rated:
156p 8. SOME CHAOS Michael Scudamore Ben Poste
154 1. BEWARE THE BEAR Nicky Henderson Jeremiah McGrath
154? 6. THE DRUIDS NEPHEW Neil Mulholland Noel Fehily

1.25 Betbright Dipper Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (1) 2½m127y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 165 167 167 175 171 (Avg 169)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Defi du Seuil proved a totally different proposition on the back of his chasing debut when readily scoring at Exeter last month, his jumping looking all the more assured. He can follow up with better to come despite conceding weight all round. A host of last season’s leading novice hurdlers are in opposition though, with On The Blind Side and Black Op feared most on this occasion.

Timeform Top Rated:
167p 1. DEFI DU SEUIL Philip Hobbs Barry Geraghty
166p 4. LOSTINTRANSLATION Colin Tizzard Robbie Power
165p 3. CRUCIAL ROLE Dan Skelton Harry Skelton

2.00 Download The Betbright App Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (1) 2½m127y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Give Me A Copper lacks the experience of some of his rivals here but, given his pedigree and previous impressions, he has the potential to be a top-notch chaser and, as such, is worth the chance to defy a mark of 145 despite returning from a lengthy absence. Divine Spear is a danger along with Newburyscorer Aso.

Timeform Top Rated:
171p 6. DIVINE SPEAR Nicky Henderson Nico de Boinville
169p 2. ACTING LASS Harry Fry Non Runner
168 1. ASO Venetia Williams Charlie Deutsch

2.35 Simplify Horse Racing Selections With Betfinder At Betbright Handicap Hurdle (2) 2m7f213y

Analyst’s Verdict:
A good staying handicap. 2015 Coral Cup winner Aux Ptits Soins shaped as if retaining plenty of ability on his return for new handler Dan Skelton at Newbury and is well treated if he can build on that. Vive Le Roi and De Name Evades Me were ahead of him on that occasion and ought to figure again. The thriving Jersey Bean and the unexposed Chameron are others who could have a big part to play.

Timeform Top Rated:
159 5. AUX PTITS SOINS Dan Skelton Harry Skelton
158 7. BOBO MAC Tom Symonds James Davies
157 13. FORECAST Martin Keighley Gavin Sheehan

3.10 Dornan Engineering Relkeel Hurdle (Grade 2) (1) 2½m56y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 182 175 177 175 177 (Avg 177)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Wholestone’s poor run at Newbury can be excused and he can repeat last year’s trick and bounce back with victory in this Grade 2 for Nigel Twiston-Davies. Clyne could be a danger if keeping the mistakes down, while Midnight Shadow is the improver in the field.

Timeform Top Rated:
174 3. WHOLESTONE Nigel Twiston-Davies Daryl Jacob
167 2. OLD GUARD Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
166 4. THOMAS CAMPBELL Nicky Henderson James Bowen

3.50 EBF Stallions & Cheltenham Pony Club (Standard Open National Hunt Flat) (Listed) (1) 1m5f209y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: 128 128 117 119 131 (Avg 125)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Four last-time-out winners do battle, with preference for Ripplet, who, in-keeping with her Flat pedigree, displayed plenty of dash when an easy winner on debut in October and her sex allowance may well prove to be decisive. Fearless and Cascova also defend unbeaten records, while there shouldn’t be much between Book of Invasions and Fuseau again.

Timeform Top Rated:
118 4. FEARLESS Rebecca Menzies Conor O’Farrell
116 10. RIPPLET Hughie Morrison Harry Cobden
112+ 3. CASCOVA Martyn Meade Nico de Boinville
