Anyone backing Kupa River managed a bit of place money with the 14/1 about him – like we said in our notes yesterday, they really think this one will pick up a decent sprint this season, though this race was at just shy of a mile. He has shown best form on the softer surfaces but did lose his maiden on the firm and backed that up today – we’ll watch out for news on him in the coming months.

Back to today, despite 3 flat cards it’s pretty low grade affair – we’ll be keeping our powder dry and be back tomorrow where at Ayr, Saturday winner Tanosoq will be back out quickly and up against recent Chester 2nd, Powerallied. Neither will offer us any value heading the market in a 5 runner so hopefully we’ll have news of something else.

1.50 188Bet Mobile Bet10 Get20 EBF Novice Stakes (5) 6f18y

Timeform Top Rated
94 1. BAREND BOY Hugo Palmer James Doyle
83 4. DIXIELAND Richard Hannon Tom Marquand
75p 6. MY DEAR FRIEND Ralph Beckett Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Plenty of interesting newcomers on show here, including Daarik, who is related to plenty of winners and hails from a yard in fine form. He is taken to make a successful debut. Barend Boy brings the best form credentials and must be respected, whilst My Dear Friend may improve on his Salisbury debut effort.

2.20 Champions League Final Betting At 188Bet Novice Median Auction Stakes (5) 1m75y

Timeform Top Rated
99p 5. IBRAZ Roger Varian Jim Crowley
97p 6. INFRASTRUCTURE Martyn Meade James Doyle
91 4. HISTORY WRITER David Menuisier Silvestre De Sousa

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ibraz would likely have finished a clear second with an uninterrupted passage on last month’s Newmarket return, and with this step up in trip promising to suit on breeding, he’s the one to beat. Infrastructure and History Writer head the opposition.

2.55 Daily Racing Specials At 188Bet Classified Stakes (5) 1m75y

Timeform Top Rated
94 1. AUSTIN POWERS Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
92 10. VICEROY MAC David Loughnane Josephine Gordon
90p 5. FACE LIKE THUNDER Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy

Analyst’s Verdict:
Austin Powers found improvement when narrowly foiled on his return at Newmarket last weekend and is taken to gain quick compensation here. Face Like Thunder and Viceroy Mac head the list of dangers.

3.25 Read Silvestre de Sousa At 188Bet Fillies’ Handicap (3) 1m75y

Timeform Top Rated
105 5. LINE HOUSE K. R. Burke P. J. McDonald
104+ 4. FABULOUS RED Ed Dunlop Paddy Mathers
104 7. ARABIAN JAZZ Michael Bell Hayley Turner

Analyst’s Verdict:
This looks tricky but Rasima is still low mileage and was only just denied her first success at Wolverhampton last time. She can make a successful switch to handicapping. Caiya and Line House rate the principal dangers.

4.00 188Bet Casino British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap (4) 1¼m50y

Timeform Top Rated
91 7. STORM JAZZ Robyn Brisland Noel Garbutt (3)
90 5. DANCE ME Sylvester Kirk Oisin Murphy
88 1. AFFINA Simon Crisford James Doyle

Analyst’s Verdict:
It could be worth chancing Storm Jazz, who was denied a clear run when fourth at Chelmsford last time and remains on a decent mark. Double Reflection and Dance Me are other key players.

4.35 Download The App At 188Bet Handicap (Qualifier) (5) 2m

Timeform Top Rated
90 1. AIRTON James Bethell Jim Crowley
88 3. MAMBO DANCER Mark Johnston P. J. McDonald
88 8. HALLSTATT John Mackie Tom Eaves

Analyst’s Verdict:
Navajo Star has had a productive first half of the year and showed with her recent second at Goodwood that she is just as effective on turf. She is taken to score. Hallstatt and Northwest Frontier are others to consider.

5.05 Follow 188Bet On Twitter Handicap (Qualifier) (5) 6f18y

Timeform Top Rated
91 13. CENT FLYING William Muir David Egan (3)
89§ 2. BUSTAM John Quinn Silvestre De Sousa
88 8. INDIAN WARRIOR Ed Dunlop James Doyle

Analyst’s Verdict:
Enzo’s Lad had several of these rivals behind when scoring at Yarmouth last month and makes fair appeal in his follow-up bid. Cent Flying and Roman Spinner are solid alternatives.

Check these guys out if you haven't already heard of them!

With it being a quiet day on the selections front, we think you should check out the service from the guys from Cleeve – they target higher end c2+ than ourselves and have got off to a good start this season. Have a look around their site linked below with a past results visible. Our selections shouldn’t clash due to the nature of races we tend to get involved with and should be a nice complimentary and personal service from Nick & the guys to run alongside our own this summer.
