Apologies for missing out on our previous winner, Declan Carroll’s Musharrif yesterday….we mentioned him in the intro notes when he was 7/2 at time of posting and drifted like a barge out to 10’s during the morning notching up a very easy success under Steve Donohoe 🙁 glad we got a couple of emails from some of you who back our previous winners.

There’s just a sole meet on the turf today at Yarmouth with Timeform for Newcastle on the AW below…..we have a sole members selection below that may come as no surprise!

The bank is now just over £3950 for those on the £1k to £10k challenge….and grown by over 300% with an ROI of over 28%….current stakes are now £49.78 EW

Anyone wishing to contact us direct, please use the email address alwaysbackwinners2018@gmail.com ……..any FREE SERVICE MEMBERS looking to receive the latest premium service selections and join the £1k to £10k quest.……just follow the UPGRADE link.

On a separate note – we often get asked about our affiliation with the book Always Back Winners by Stewart Simpson – just to clear things up…..we have no association with him, but found it a cracking read in the late 70’s that inspired the introduction to the sport and hence the site name. His exploits were conducted with paddock inspections whilst present at the meeting he was backing in, with no such access to on-line accounts in those days. Much of the rationale concerning ‘top weights on turning tracks’ can still be applied today with supporting information ready to hand from the likes of geegeez, ATR etc which, in theory, makes it whole lot ‘easier’ for the regular punter.

Anyone looking for a winter read during close season whilst we take on the NH…….for which he had no love at all 🙂 ….you can try and grab a copy from the likes of Amazon below….

2.10 Betway Sprint Handicap (4) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
100 10. T FOR TANGO Richard John O’Brien Tony Hamilton
97 5. RUSSIAN REALM Paul Midgley Graham Lee
97 9. KENNY THE CAPTAIN Tim Easterby Rachel Richardson

Analyst’s Verdict:
T For Tango forged clear when winning in the mud at Ayr a fortnight ago under Tony Hamilton and is taken to strike again for all these are vastly-different conditions. Comprise, Green Fortune and John Kirkup are a handful of other players in a competitive contest.

2.40 Ladbrokes First For Racing EBF Novice Stakes (4) 7f14y

Timeform Top Rated:
96p 1. TURJOMAAN Roger Varian Dane O’Neill
92p 7. WIRETAP David Simcock Oisin Murphy
80 2. BEECHWOOD JUDE Keith Dalgleish Joe Fanning

Analyst’s Verdict:
Hard to see past Turjomaan, who knuckled down well when winning a useful race at Ascot on debut last month. He likely has plenty more to offer. Wiretap is the obvious danger.

3.10 Betway Optional Claiming Handicap (2) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
117 5. GLENAMOY LAD Michael Wigham Joe Fanning
116 12. BREANSKI Jedd O’Keeffe Graham Lee
116 9. RAPID APPLAUSE Michael Easterby Nathan Evans

Analyst’s Verdict:
Breanski had a hopeless task from his position at York last time, so is certainly not one to write off, especially now returning to a track where he goes so well (2 from 3 here currently). Polybius, Rapid Applause and Glenamoy Lad complete the shortlist.

3.40 Ladbrokes Home of The Odds Boost Conditions Stakes (Qualifier) (2) 6f

Timeform Top Rated:
114 5. SWISSTERIOUS K. R. Burke Clifford Lee
102 1. CONCIERGE George Scott Oisin Murphy
101 6. IMPLICIT James Tate David Allan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Swissterious had excuses in the 2-y-o Trophy at Redcar last time, having raced on the unfavoured part of the track, so is worth another chance on the strength of his previous form. Fares Kodiac is likely to do better again, with Princes des Sables and Implicit others to consider.

4.10 Betway Apprentice Handicap (6) (D.I) 1½m98y

Timeform Top Rated:
69 4. HIGHWAYMAN David Thompson Jonathan Fisher (3)
68 6. LIFE KNOWLEDGE Lawrence Mullaney Faye McManoman
68 7. BROMANCE Peter Niven Harry Russell (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Don’t Do It appeared to run a blinder in first-time cheekpieces when third in a Musselburgh seller last week and could open his account if in the same sort of form back in a handicap now. Highwayman and Life Knowledge are a couple of others to consider.

4.40 Betway Apprentice Handicap (6) (D.II) 1½m98y

Timeform Top Rated:
73 4. KING’S COINAGE Ruth Carr Sebastian Woods
71 10. WALLFLOWER Rae Guest William Carver (5)
71 3. CORAL QUEEN Ray Craggs Oliver Stammers (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
King’s Coinage couldn’t build on the promise of his last run at Catterick, but he’s too well handicapped to ignore so is given another chance in this low-grade affair. Coral Queen and Good Man should remain competitive.

5.10 Betway Handicap (5) 1¼m42y

Timeform Top Rated:
85 6. SWANSWAY Michael Easterby Nathan Evans
84 8. HUSSAR BALLAD Antony Brittain Cam Hardie
83 4. REASSURANCE James Tate David Allan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Swansway is doing little wrong at present and is taken to gain a deserved win. Reassurance will be suited by a return to this trip and looks interesting, as does Faldo, who should have more to offer now venturing into handicaps for his new yard.

5.45 sunracing.co.uk Classified Stakes (5) 1m5y

Timeform Top Rated:
97 4. ELUSIVE HEIGHTS Roger Fell Tony Hamilton
95 1. PURE SHORES Ian Williams Gabriele Malune (5)
94 3. CASINA DI NOTTE Marco Botti Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
Pure Shores is thriving now for her excellent trainer and can complete the hat-trick. Elusive Heights and Pickett’s Charge head up the opposition.
