Safety razors, cut throat razors shaving brushes all things shaving from Executive Shaving

Tuesday – 27th November 2018

Yesterday’s selection Plantagenet was heavily backed into 2/1f but was beaten on the run in by the Nicky Henderson trained No Hiding Place – hopefully most of you broke even with the 5’s and 9/2 that seemed to be on offer after we posted?

Into notes, Cap St Vincent continued progress with an easy 7l win at Musselburgh for those of you who were adding anything to their acca’s.

Today, there’s Sedgefield and Lingfield with Timeform for the former – as yesterday, not a whole lot of races of interest and those looking at lumping prices, Tayzar looks solid in the 6 runner (14.50) at Sedgefield. He wasn’t for stopping at Kelso LTO and looks the one to take on the Bowen’s strong looking favourite Dr Dunraven.

Nothing for members today and we’ll be back tomorrow before 8.00am 🙂

For those on the new £1k to £10k, current stakes are now £10.91 EW and the bank stands at £872.80

12.20 Sedgefield Christmas Jumper Raceday Seventh December Handicap Chase (5) 2m77y

Timeform Top Rated
112§ 4. SHOW’S OVER Fergal O’Brien Connor Brace (7)
108 3. HOPE FOR GLORY Maurice Barnes Dale Irving (3)
105§ 5. YOURHOLIDAYISOVER Tom Gretton Brian Hughes

Analyst’s Verdict:
Not a race that will take a whole lot of winning with Show’s Over rating the most solid option. He has gone close on 2 of his 3 starts since joining Fergal O’Brien and a repeat here ought to be enough. Roxyfet and Yourholidayisover can do battle for minor honours.

12.50 Sedgefield Racecourse Supports Cash For Kids Handicap Hurdle (4) (D.I) 2m178y

Timeform Top Rated
115 4. CANNY STYLE Joanne Foster Nathan Moscrop (5)
110 6. PATIENCE TONY Lucinda Egerton Mr Aaron Anderson (7)
108 8. STRAIT RUN Micky Hammond Emma Smith-Chaston (10)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Promise of Peace needs to pack more punch at the finish but he does strike as being well treated based on the level of form he was capable of on the Flat for his previous connections and is preferred to Canny Style, who is nicely treated on her best efforts now setting out for new handler Joanne Foster. Patience Tony also makes the shortlist.

1.20 Sedgefield Racecourse Supports Cash For Kids Handicap Hurdle (4) (D.II) 2m178y

Timeform Top Rated
114 6. GLIMPSE OF GOLD Tim Vaughan Alan Johns
113 5. OUTBACK BLUE George Bewley Jonathon Bewley (3)
109 8. MILLIE THE MINX Dianne Sayer Danny McMenamin (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Plenty of these have questions to answer, so Glimpse of Gold appeals as the most solid option after shaping encouragingly on his return at Uttoxeter earlier this month. Millie The Minx and The Herds Garden are others to consider.

1.50 Sedgefield Boxing Day Tickets Available Online Handicap Chase (4) 3¼m59y
Timeform Top Rated
125 1. CAPTAIN MOWBRAY Rebecca Menzies Nathan Moscrop (5)
123§ 2. KILFINICHEN BAY Charlie Longsdon Brian Hughes
121§ 4. DICK DARSIE Sue Smith Danny Cook

Analyst’s Verdict:
Kilfinichen Bay isn’t the most consistent, but is capable on his day and may be able to dominate this small field from the front. He gets the vote in a race which may not take a great deal of winning. Captain Mowbray looks the obvious danger.

2.20 Availability In Indian Marquee Boxing Day Novices’ Hurdle (4) 2m178y

Timeform Top Rated
130 11. ILAYA Micky Hammond Alain Cawley
119p 9. TORRID Michael Easterby Harry Bannister
85 2. CAPMONFOR Donald McCain Lorcan Murtagh (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
A bit of a trappy look to this novice and the betting will provide more clues. Abel Tasmancost his new connections 40,000 gns last month and this consistent sort on the Flat is taken to make a successful start over hurdles. Last season’s dual course bumper winner Theatre Legend ought to go well on hurdle bow, while French-recruit Ilaya is also interesting for last year’s winning yard.

2.50 Don’t Miss 2For1 Raceday Eleventh January Chase (Novices’ Limited Handicap) (3) 2m77y

Timeform Top Rated
144 5. DR DUNRAVEN Peter Bowen Sean Bowen
140p 4. TAYZAR Ruth Jefferson Jamie Hamilton
130+ 2. FIN AND GAME Donald McCain Brian Hughes

Analyst’s Verdict:
The 2 last-time-out winners Dr Dunraven and Tayzar could fight this out, with Peter Bowen’s charge taken to defy a penalty for his cosy Plumpton victory. Bulkov developed into a bit of a course-specialist over hurdles last season and could be set for a big run.

3.20 SunRacing.co.uk ‘National Hunt’ Auction Maiden Hurdle (Qualifier) (4) 2m3f188y

Timeform Top Rated
127p 4. SPEEDY CARGO Harry Whittington Harry Bannister
126 3. MANCE RAYDER Henry Hogarth Jamie Hamilton
88 1. BOLTON BOY Tim Vaughan Alan Johns

Analyst’s Verdict:
Speedy Cargo finished a close fifth despite failing to meet market expectations on hurdling debut here this month, and he rates the percentage call with progress likely. Court Jurado starts out for a respected yard after landing an Irish point in April and is feared most ahead of Mance Rayder.
