A welcome winner with Sandy Thompson’s John Williams who came home under claimer Rachel McDonald who did really well to beat the experienced Brian Hughes on the McCain charge.

Fakenham and Southwell today with some better looking field sizes and we’ve a couple from the former for our members selections with supporting Timeform below.

On the lumping front, Crosspark in the 14.00 at Southwell looks a solid proposition and on around 2/1.

For those on the new £1k to £10k, current stakes are now £11.15 EW and the bank stands at £891.93

12.40 Visit Palace House In Newmarket This Christmas Handicap Hurdle (4) 2½m1y

Timeform Top Rated:
113 6. YEATS BABY Emmet Mullins Alain Cawley
112+ 2. DEMON FOU Jeremy Scott Nick Scholfield
111 3. TODD Olly Murphy Callum McKinnes (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Willyegolassiego retains handicap scope in this sphere based on her Flat form, and back over a more suitable trip, is selected to double her tally over hurdles. Bisoubisou won a C&D handicap from 1 lb higher last winter so is feared, while it will be fascinating to see whether Yeats Baby can continue the good work for Emmet Mullins.

1.10 Injured Jockeys’ Fund For Christmas Presents Handicap Chase (4) 2m5f44y

Timeform Top Rated:
127 5. NATIVE ROBIN Jeremy Scott Nick Scholfield
125 2. THE GEEGEEZ GEEGEE Olly Murphy Fergus Gregory (5)
125 7. MR RAJ Thomas Gallagher Mr Shane Roche (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Native Robin shaped well on his return at Wincanton and is now only 2 lb above his last winning mark, so could be the answer. The Geegeez Geegee remains of interest on his belated return, while his stablemate Wood Pigeon is capable of getting involved.

1.40 North Creake ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle (4) 2½m1y

Timeform Top Rated:
136p 3. SKANDIBURG Olly Murphy Fergus Gregory (5)
135 5. BANG BANG ROSIE Peter Bowen Sean Bowen
123p 4. THREE BULLET GATE Robin Dickin Charlie Poste

Analyst’s Verdict:
Course bumper winner Skandiburg should be suited by this step up in trip and looks capable of building on his third at Wetherby last month. Bang Bang Rosie is respected on first start for Peter Bowen.

2.10 Fakenham Juvenile Hurdle (4) 2m3y

Timeform Top Rated:
138p 1. SONG FOR SOMEONE Tom Symonds Aidan Coleman
129 3. FOR PLEASURE Alex Hales Kielan Woods
128 6. THE LINCOLN LAWYER Charlie Mann Harry Bannister

Analyst’s Verdict:
Song For Someone should prove hard to beat if reproducing the form of his close second at Ludlow 19 days ago. For Pleasure clearly has a race of this nature over timber in him if he can learn to settle, while Westbrook Bertie needs respecting on hurdles debut given his fairly useful Flat ability.

2.40 Racing Welfare Handicap Chase (5) 2m59y

Timeform Top Rated:
104§ 2. SHOW’S OVER Fergal O’Brien Paddy Brennan
103 3. LITTLE JIMMY Tom Gretton Robert Dunne
103§ 7. YOURHOLIDAYISOVER Tom Gretton A. P. Heskin

Analyst’s Verdict:
Show’s Over is proving more consistent for his present stable and, having got his head back in front in a similar low-grade affair at Sedgefield last week, he is fancied to defy a penalty and come out on top again. By Rail has been given a short break following his last run and is feared, ahead of Wisecracker.

3.10 Harpley Handicap Hurdle (5) 2m7f95y

Timeform Top Rated:
103p 3. DOWHATUDODOBEST Phil Middleton Jamie Moore
102 5. MIDNIGHT QUEEN Tim Vaughan Alan Johns
101 6. SHALAMZAR Phil McEntee Thomas Garner

Analyst’s Verdict:
Dowhatudodobest shaped really well in defeat on her handicap debut at Plumpton in October and makes plenty of appeal with this longer trip sure to suit. General Bux is likely to come good at some stage for Olly Murphy and looks the biggest danger.
