1.00 bwin Novices’ Hurdle (3) 2m5f135y

Timeform Top Rated:
138p 1. COTSWOLD WAY Philip Hobbs Micheal Nolan
128 4. WINTER SPICE Johnny Farrelly Tom Cannon
109 2. HUGOS HORSE Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden

Analyst’s Verdict:
Cotswold Way was much improved when making a winning return at Huntingdon 3 weeks ago and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to follow up. Master Card was outpaced in a strong-looking Kempton bumper back in February and could do better now upped in trip on hurdles debut.

1.35 D & S Commissioning Novices’ Hurdle (3) 2m175y

Timeform Top Rated:
136P 2. CROOKS PEAK Philip Hobbs Richard Johnson
135 3. SOME DAY SOON Jamie Snowden Gavin Sheehan
133p 5. ZOFFANY BAY Ali Stronge Adam Wedge

Analyst’s Verdict:
Crooks Peak didn’t achieve as much as Some Day Soon and Zoffany Bay (subsequently an easy winner at Plumpton on Monday) starting out in this sphere at Newton Abbot, but he’s expected to take a big jump forward this time, particularly considering the level he achieved in bumpers.

2.05 bwin.com Haldon Gold Cup (Limited Handicap Chase) (Grade 2) (1) 2m1f109y

Timeform Top Rated:
172 4. OZZIE THE OSCAR Philip Hobbs Richard Johnson
171 3. SAN BENEDETO Paul Nicholls Bryony Frost (3)
168p 1. DIEGO DU CHARMIL Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ozzie The Oscar has really upped his game since switching to the larger obstacles, impressing with his fencing when scoring with a bit in hand at Warwick in May. He still looks fairly treated and is taken to register another success in this sphere. Diego du Charmil has a fine record fresh and rates the principal danger.

2.40 bwin Novices’ Chase (2) 3m54y

Timeform Top Rated:
130+ 1. BABBLING STREAM Brian Barr Daryl Jacob

Analyst’s Verdict:
Coup de Pinceau looks just the type to make up into a useful staying novice chaser for Paul Nicholls and is selected to make a winning return from Hoo Bally Diva.

3.15 Smith & Williamson Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (3) 3m54y

Timeform Top Rated:
143p 8. CANYOURINGMEBACK Nick Gifford Tom Cannon
142 2. FAVORITO BUCK’S Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden
140x 3. SCOOP THE POT Philip Hobbs Richard Johnson

Analyst’s Verdict:
Canyouringmeback unseated his rider in his hat-trick bid at Wincanton last time, but he’s certainly still one to be positive about and is well worth another chance. Favorito Buck’s and Scoop The Pot are a couple of others to consider.

3.45 Best Odds Guaranteed At bwin Handicap Hurdle (4) 2m7f25y

Timeform Top Rated:
126 8. COTTONVALE Christian Williams Nick Scholfield
125 7. PLANTAGENET Seamus Mullins Daniel Sansom (5)
124 3. FLYING VERSE David Dennis Sam Twiston-Davies

Analyst’s Verdict:
Farm The Rock somewhat belatedly confirmed his initial hurdles promise when making a winning return at Bangor last month (re-opposing Flying Verse second) and he could be worth chancing to build on that now. Aforementioned Flying Verse, a subsequent winner himself, is feared however, ahead of Cottonvale and Plantagenet.

4.15 Jockey Club Catering Handicap Hurdle (5) 2¼m111y

Timeform Top Rated:
109 4. NORSE LIGHT David Dennis David Bass
107 11. DOUBLE COURT Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
106 5. MISTY BLOOM Emma Lavelle Adam Wedge

Analyst’s Verdict:
All Hands On Deck is one of the least exposed in this field and could be the type to go on improving on the back of an encouraging handicap debut, so a chance is taken on him to get the better of some well-established sorts. Double Court remains feasibly treated even after his recent Market Rasen success and This Lovely Lady has some scope to progress based on her previous exploits in bumpers.
