A nice 8/1 winner for us yesterday with Jason Hart booting home INDIAN PURSUIT unchallenged at Catterick by a very big margin…….advised 8/1…….11/2 SP. We expected him to be quickly away from that low draw and he did it in fine style up the inside rail with no one else getting near him. In what could have been an exceptional day, Pearl Acclaim then landed 2nd place in the following race…advised at 16’s to give us some decent place money for our two members selections for the day.

However, we can’t be too greedy and those returns have edges us closer to the £3k mark again and hopefully we can break through this and really crack on!

The going has gone heavy at Carlisle today and aside from the two divisions of the opening races on the cards, nothing to consider. For those backing previous selections……Abushamah is out in the Div 2 at (14.00) and should give a decent showing, however the form of JPS is concerning us at the moment. We’re also expecting a decent run from Tim Easterby’s 3yo Power Sail – there’s not a whole load of pace on here and the mile will take all the getting up Carlisle’s stiff uphill finish who will most probably attempt to make all. He’s proved adept over 9f but so has the lightly raced this term, IM DAPPER TOO who won this 2 years back and may just pick him off . A confirmed mud lover who has won on a stiff uphill finish at Ponty…..as well as here, he would be our pick in this at around 7/2.

We’ve just one for members from Donny today and Timeform is for the meet at Listowel………..BOL with your bets today.

2.05 Exchange Inn Ballybunion & Kevin’s Bar Listowel Irish European Breeders Fund Maiden 7f

Timeform Top Rated
81p 5. JAPAN Aidan O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien
76p 8. SACCHOANDVANZETTI J. S. Bolger K. J. Manning
72 3. DROMBEG DUKE Augustine Leahy C. T. Keane

Analyst’s Verdict:
Japan’s midfield debut effort at the Curragh contained a good deal of promise and, with progress a distinct possibility, he is fancied to make it second time lucky in a race lacking depth. Sacchoandvanzetti and Macken rate next best.

2.40 Listowel Arms Handicap 7f

89 6. IDALIA Tracey Collins R. P. Whelan
88? 18. STELLAIRE ENFANT Peter Fahey Reserve
86 15. MOUNTJUBILEE W. McCreery L. F. Roche

Analyst’s Verdict:
Idalia showed improved form to open her account at the Curragh 17 days ago, responding well. The step back up in trip will hold no fears and she is fancied to make a bold bid again. Nailed On Nina is a live threat though, as is Art Of America.

3.15 Brandon Hotel Handicap 7f

Timeform Top Rated
108 3. CANARY ROW P. J. Prendergast D. E. Hogan (7)
105 10. KRISPEN Timothy Doyle R. P. Whelan
104 5. SIRJACK THOMAS John Patrick Murtagh Shane Foley

Analyst’s Verdict:
The handicapper has taken a bit of a chance dropping Canary Row another 3 lb after not being beaten that far at Galway and he might be worth chancing as he seems to be building up to something. Sirjack Thomas wasn’t seen to best effect at the Curragh last time and remains of interest off this mark, while Mayaadeen shaped well when second at Roscommon recently.

3.50 Seamus Mulvaney Bookmaker Handicap 1m1f

Timeform Top Rated
94p 1. AZTEC EAGLE D. K. Weld Ben Martin Coen (7)
93 2. CHIAVARI Ellmarie Holden S. P. Davis (5)
93 9. HEART OF GOLD R. K. Watson R. P. Cleary

Analyst’s Verdict:
Aztec Eagle and Ace Combat look the pair to focus on, both unexposed handicap debutants from top yards. Preference is for Dermot Weld’s charge under an in-form 7 lb claimer. Vocal Music could also have a say.

4.20 Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase (Grade A) 3m

Timeform Top Rated
170+ 19. ROGUE ANGEL Gordon Elliott Reserve
170x 4. HAYMOUNT W. P. Mullins D. E. Mullins
169 3. SNOW FALCON Noel Meade Jonathan Moore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Snow Falcon shaped much better than the bare result after 4 months off in the Galway Plate 6 weeks ago, faring best of those held up, and looks capable of winning over fences off this mark. Jury Duty was another eye-catcher from the Galway Plate, while Blazer was a good second in the Galway Hurdle and remains of interest back over fences.

4.55 Ballygarry House Hotel Novice Hurdle 2½m

Timeform Top Rated
145p 2. EASY GAME W. P. Mullins P. Townend
144p 4. AIR SUPREMACY Joseph Patrick O’Brien M. P. Walsh
136p 3. GETAREASON W. P. Mullins D. J. Mullins

Analyst’s Verdict:
Air Supremacy looked a good novice prospect when making a successful start over hurdles at Killarney last month and the 5 lb he receives from Easy Game may prove decisive.

5.30 M.S.D Animal Health Maiden Hurdle 2m

Timeform Top Rated
144 3. DEBUCHET Ms Margaret Mullins D. E. Mullins
133+ 8. QUICK GRABIM W. P. Mullins P. Townend
114 7. PASS HYMN Garrett James Power A. E. Lynch

Analyst’s Verdict:
Debuchet didn’t find much off the bridle when third on his Galway return last month but is perhaps worth one more chance as likely main danger Quick Grabim hasn’t been seen since a fall at Leopardstown last Christmas. Point runner-up Spyglass Hill is also respected having joined Henry de Bromhead.

6.00 Listowel Vintners Association I.N.H. Flat 2½m

Timeform Top Rated
105 5. DOCTOR DUFFY Charles Byrnes Mr R. Deegan (5)
101 3. CLOUNCERNA J. R. Barry Mr J. C. Barry (5)
98 4. DANCING IN THE SKY T. E. Hyde Mr T. D. Hyde (7)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Eileen O makes plenty of appeal as a Willie Mullins-trained debutante related to a couple of useful ones who took bumpers first time up. She can be another successful newcomer for the all-conquering yard. Doctor Duffy was a good second in a useful Galway event last month and looks the obvious danger.
