Wednesday – 17th October 2018

Two meetings for Wednesday on the turf with Bath and Nottingham providing some low grade action. Nothing of note at the former  though at Nottingham, two of our previous winners, Glamorous Rocket and Our Little Pony go H2H. Both look to have it all to do…..MLP is up 10lb for that last C4 win whilst Glamorous Rocket is an unknown on this surface. In the last (17.15) Twentysvnthlancers goes who was a previous pick for those backing ‘next three runs’, he’s not really cut it since winning in the summer and something like Franny Norton on Coiste Bodhar looks ok for a small EW nibble at a big price as a previous C&D winner who is following a similar programme as last year for this winners AW campaign.

There’s NO members selections today on very low grade fayre…..Timeform for Wetherby from the speedmeisters is below for those looking at some early winter NH action.

We’re now at nearly £3,700 on our £1k to £10k …..for those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 260% with an ROI of over 25%….current stakes are now £45.86 EW

2.10 Sue Jefferson Realise Possibilities Juvenile Hurdle (4) 2m

Timeform Top Rated
129 1. BREAKFAST Donald McCain Brian Hughes
119 2. CAPTAIN KISSINGER Jo Hughes Mr Frederick Tett (5)
112 6. SURRENDER Tim Easterby Mr William Easterby (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
King d’Argent failed to win in 4 attempts on the Flat, but he reached a fairly useful level and looks set to run a big race on this switch to hurdling. Breakfast sets the standard on form so needs respecting. Seaborough was also no mug on the Flat and should have a future in this sphere.

2.45 Bet At racinguk.com Novices’ Chase (4) 2m3f85y

Timeform Top Rated
146p 1. EL TERREMOTO Nigel Twiston-Davies Daryl Jacob

Analyst’s Verdict:
A small field but it’s an intriguing contest. Lough Derg Spirit’s Irish point background provides hope that he can at least match his useful hurdle form over the larger obstacles and he’s selected to make the most of the 6 lb he receives from previous chase winner El Terremoto. Cool Mix went the right way over hurdles last term and also shouldn’t be underestimated.

3.15 Sixt Rent A Car Ride Smug Novices’ Hurdle (4) 2m3f154y

Timeform Top Rated
136p 2. KAPGARRY Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
135 1. I JUST KNOW Sue Smith Danny Cook

Analyst’s Verdict:
Kapgarry didn’t shape at all badly when runner-up on his respective hurdles bow at Perth last month and, with progress a distinct possibility, he is fancied to make it second time lucky. I Just Know is better known as a useful chaser nowadays but he can pose the chief threat.

3.45 Bobby Renton Handicap Chase (3) 2m3f85y

Timeform Top Rated
154 1. BALLYANDY Nigel Twiston-Davies Sam Twiston-Davies
150§ 5. REAR ADMIRAL Michael Easterby Sean Bowen
149 2. WILLIE BOY Charlie Longsdon Gavin Sheehan

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ballyandy disappointed in a Cheltenham handicap when last seen in January but has his sights lowered on his return and remains a smart prospect over fences given his hurdle ability. He can get his chase career back on track here, perhaps at the main expense of Willie Boy who was successful on his reappearance last season and is interesting on first outing for Charlie Longsdon.

4.20 bet365 Charlie Hall Meeting 2nd & 3rd November Handicap Hurdle (3) 3m26y

Timeform Top Rated
150 6. BECKY THE THATCHER Micky Hammond Sean Quinlan
148 3. NAUTICAL NITWIT Philip Kirby Thomas Dowson (3)
147 1. JACKS LAST HOPE Chris Grant Brian Hughes

Analyst’s Verdict:
Notnow Seamus has done nothing but improve upon joining Dan Skelton this term, recording win number 4 with ease over shorter at Uttoxeter last month. The handicapper has exacted revenge but he’s hard to discount in this groove and is fancied to go well again. Jacks Last Hope and the ultraconsistent Dubai Angel may emerge as the chief dangers.

4.55 100% RacingUK Profits Back To Racing Handicap Chase (3) 1m7f36y

Timeform Top Rated
140 3. THEFLYINGPORTRAIT Jennie Candlish Sean Quinlan
137 1. INK MASTER Donald McCain Brian Hughes
137 5. IFANDBUTWHYNOT Tim Easterby Mr William Easterby (5)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Theflyingportrait has dropped to a handy mark and may be able to take advantage back in a class 3. Ink Master continues to thrive and is feared most.

5.25 Watch Racing UK Anywhere Handicap Hurdle (3) 2m

Timeform Top Rated
150 5. RAVEN’S TOWER Ben Pauling David Bass
149 2. ARISTO DU PLESSIS James Ewart Nick Scholfield
147 1. MIDNIGHT SHADOW Sue Smith Danny Cook

Analyst’s Verdict:
A tightly-knit handicap with Innocent Touch the selection. He was found out in a listed handicap at Market Rasen last time, but that’s not form to be scoffed at and he’s taken to resume winning ways. Midnight Shadow and Aristo du Plessis look next best.
