A near miss with Alfred Richardson yesterday 🙁 but we’ll take the EW portion of the 20/1 and move on with a tad of profit from our two selections. Today there’s action from Beverley, Sandown and Yarmouth with Timeform below for those looking at Sandown.

A cracking conundrum at Beverley with a C5 5f sprint Westwood Handicap (16.30) that features our LTO winner, Musharrif – he won well that day but this is a different proposition from a wide draw and a whole load of pace on in this….we’ll keep his money firmly in our pocket and have one for members below that looks decent value.

At Sandown, previously backed Roundabout Magic goes in the 13.40 – he’s given us a bit of place money but all to do from the widest draw with the likes of Saaheq who hacked up in the race last week when we were on Sheepscar Lad.

Just to add a bit more content we’ve now added a ‘TRACKERS’ and ‘REVIEWS’ sections to the site home page…..the trackers will try and give some insights into the past weeks racing and horses that we have noted. The reviews will essentially contain any 3rd party services we believe are excellent and time proven complimentary betting services recommended by our members to supplement our service and even out the flow of winners when one service…. (or ours)…. is not performing to scratch. Check the pages out at your leisure and any feedback is most welcome at the email address alwaysbackwinners2018@gmail.com or in the forum below.

1.40 Smarkets Handicap (Qualifier) (5) 5f10y

Timeform Top Rated:
100p 3. SAAHEQ Michael Appleby Luke Morris
92 1. KASBAH Amanda Perrett Jack Mitchell
91§ 8. OPERATIVE Ed de Giles Rob Hornby

Analyst’s Verdict:
While stall 9 isn’t ideal, Saaheq otherwise has plenty going for him. Indeed, he made an absolute mockery of his mark last week at Doncaster where he was returning from a lengthy layoff and tackling this trip for the first time. This doesn’t look as competitive and he is hard to oppose under a penalty. Kasbah, last year’s winner Operative and Roundabout Magic can do battle for minor honours.

2.10 Smarkets EBF Novice Stakes (5) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
101 7. FLYING DRAGON Richard Hannon Tom Marquand
97p 1. BARRISTAN THE BOLD Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote
94p 11. VOLTAIC Paul Cole Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
Barristan The Bold will need to improve again in order to defy a penalty in what looks a useful contest, but he did the job well over 7f here last time and may well be equal to the task with further progress anticipated now upped to a mile. Flying Dragon lost little caste in defeat on debut for this yard at Ffos Las and is feared most ahead of newcomer Dalaalaat and the promising Voltaic.

2.40 Smarkets Conditions Stakes (3) 7f

Timeform Top Rated:
110 3. GOOD FORTUNE Charlie Appleby William Buick
102p 5. WALKINTHESAND Richard Hannon Tom Marquand
97 1. DOUBLE KODIAC Simon Crisford Silvestre De Sousa

Analyst’s Verdict:
Walkinthesand made a most encouraging start to his career when going down narrowly in a C&D maiden 19 days ago and, with improvement on the cards, he is taken to go one better this time. Good Fortune sets the standard based on his effort in a Newbury listed event, but he arguably lacks the scope of the selection. Newcomer Laafy merits close attention in the betting.

3.15 Smarkets Fortune Stakes (Listed) (1) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
127p 6. WADILSAFA Owen Burrows Jim Crowley
125? 3. HATHAL Jamie Osborne William Buick
121 1. ZHUI FENG Amanda Perrett Martin Dwyer

Analyst’s Verdict:
Wadilsafa produced a smart effort when brushing his rivals aside in a York handicap in July and, with the promise of even better to come from this superbly-bred colt, he will take the world of beating. Archetype, whose form figures here read 211, gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of the progressive filly Red Starlight.

3.50 Smarkets Betting Exchange Fillies’ Handicap (4) 1m

Timeform Top Rated:
107p 2. RAWDAA Sir Michael Stoute William Buick
102 9. MISS MUMTAZ Ian Williams Jim Crowley
101p 1. LUSH LIFE Jamie Osborne Rossa Ryan (3

Analyst’s Verdict:
The one who stands out is Rawdaa. She’s quickly developed into a useful filly and can take advantage of a very-lenient opening mark. The unbeaten Lush Life surely has more to offer herself now handicapping, while it’s perhaps too soon to be writing off Akvavera.

4.20 smarkets.com Handicap (Qualifier) (4) 1m1f209y

Timeform Top Rated:
100p 5. WHITLOCK John Gosden Robert Havlin
99 6. KNIGHT ERRANT William Jarvis Silvestre De Sousa
98p 1. THUNDERBOLT ROCKS Hugo Palmer Josephine Gordon

Analyst’s Verdict:
Whitlock shaped as if still on a good mark over C&D last time, losing his position at a crucial stage, and he remains one to be interested in. Thunderbolt Rocks ran out an easy winner on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton 2 weeks ago and ought to have a say. Dawn Dancer is another to consider for an in-from yard.

4.55 ROA/Racing Post Owners’ Jackpot Fillies’ Handicap (5) (D.I) 1m1f209y

Timeform Top Rated:
81 2. GEETANJALI Michael Bell Silvestre De Sousa
80 12. MIDNIGHT MOOD Dominic Ffrench Davis Rob Hornby
80 3. GOLDEN IMAGE Harry Dunlop Luke Morris

Analyst’s Verdict:
Hyperactive is out of a likeable mare and half-sister to one that looked above average when making a winning start last month, so there’s plenty of reason to think she’ll prove better than a mark of 67 on this handicap debut. Geetanjali has been progressing steadily and looks a solid alternative ahead of Collegiate.

5.25 ROA/Racing Post Owners’ Jackpot Fillies’ Handicap (5) (D.II) 1m1f209y

Timeform Top Rated:
84+ 9. IMPERIAL CHOICE Michael Bell William Buick
82 10. PIVOTAL FLAME Pat Phelan Paddy Bradley (5)
82 11. HAVANA BREEZE Marcus Tregoning Royston Ffrench

Analyst’s Verdict:
Imperial Choice and Mystic Meg, a pair of upwardly-mobile 3-y-os are expected to come to the fore in a race where few look well treated. The first-named has the better pedigree and is marginally less exposed, so she takes preference, with Arendelle the type to go close also if everything clicks.
