Wednesday – 26th September 2018
Ahead of the Cambridgeshire meet starting tomorrow we have two meets at Redcar and Goodwood with Timeform for the latter below.
At Goodwood there’s a few handicaps we could tackle but not a whole load of northern interest down there. One we have backed previously and hovering around a winning mark is Harlequin Striker. Dean Ivory’s charge tends to do all his winning from September onwards and ran well enough LTO to think he could challenge. It’s a competitive field (16.40) and would be the most valuable race he has won so may be best backed in a C5 if he does ok here.
We’ve just a sole selection for members from Redcar this afternoon
For those on the £1k to £10k challenge….our bank has NOW grown by over 250% with an ROI of over 30%….current stakes are now £42.77 EW

2.00 Heineken 0.0%/EBF Future Stayers’ Maiden Stakes (3) 1m1f197y
Timeform Rating of previous winners: – – – – 94
Analyst’s Verdict:
Pablo Escobarr sets a very high standard and will be a tough nut to crack, especially as the longer trip should be right up the son of Galileo’s street. The Olympian made a promising start at Windsor, and looks the main threat, though Alramz is a likely-looking newcomer and strong market support for him would be interesting to say the least.
Timeform Top Rated
106p 5. PABLO ESCOBARR William Haggas Ryan Moore
90p 8. THE OLYMPIAN Alan King Martin Harley
82 4. L’UN DEUX TROIS Michael Bell Oisin Murphy
2.30 Maltsmiths Optional Claiming Handicap (2) 1m
Analyst’s Verdict:
London Protocol took advantage of a much-reduced mark at Carlisle 2 weeks ago and has obvious claims on these terms. South Seas has the ability to go close off top weight, while Mister Music took a step back in the right direction at Sandown.
Timeform Top Rated
114+ 5. LONDON PROTOCOL K. R. Burke Silvestre De Sousa
112 1. SOUTH SEAS Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy
111 6. ENIGMATIC Alan Bailey Josephine Gordon
3.05 Drink Warehouse UK Imperial Handicap (4) 6f
Analyst’s Verdict:
Mullionheir isn’t the most frequent of winners, yet there is no doubting he is capable of defying this sort of mark judged on his solid second behind an upwardly-mobile 3-y-o at Ascot 3 weeks ago and, with De Sousa again in the plate, he is selected to come out on top. Iconic Knight and Delagate This Lord are also fancied to feature.

101 6. MULLIONHEIR John Best Silvestre De Sousa
99 3. HANDYTALK Rod Millman Oisin Murphy
98 4. ICONIC KNIGHT Ed Walker Ryan Moore

Analyst’s Verdict:
Spark Plug and First Sitting have previous over this C&D, and though the latter currently leads the head-to-head two nil, the former now receives 3 lb, and that could just tip the balance. 3-y-o Gabr sports a first-time tongue tie and is a definite threat.

128 3. SPARK PLUG Brian Meehan Oisin Murphy
124 1. FIRST SITTING Chris Wall Gerald Mosse
124 7. THREADING Mark Johnston Silvestre De Sousa
4.10 TBA #Thisfillycan Fillies’ Handicap (2) 1¾m
Analyst’s Verdict:
It could be worth giving another chance to Elasia, who remains lowmileage and wasn’t suited by the steady gallop when runner-up at Newmarket last month. Lorelina is in the form of her life and is not taken lightly, whilst What A Home could step up on this season’s efforts now granted a stiffer test of stamina.

108 2. WHAT A HOME William Haggas Ryan Moore
107 5. FIRE JET John Mackie Jimmy Quinn
106 6. ELASIA Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni
4.40 Birra Moretti Handicap (4) 1m1f11y
Analyst’s Verdict:
Master Carpenter is now 10 lb lower than his last winning mark and could be set to strike again with the ground in his favour after a promising run at Newbury on Friday. Oh It’s Saucepot and Abel Tasman are a couple of the other key players.
Timeform Top Rated
103 7. ABEL TASMAN Ed Walker Ryan Moore
102+ 1. MASTER CARPENTER Rod Millman Oisin Murphy
102 5. OH IT’S SAUCEPOT Chris Wall George Wood
5.10 Heineken UK Apprentice Handicap (5) 5f
Analyst’s Verdict:
Captain Lars has done really well for Archie Watson and is chasing a hat-trick after recent victories at Ffos Las and Catterick. He still looks fairly treated and is taken to go in again. Ghepardo and Peggie Sue are others to consider.
Timeform Top Rated
92 1. CAPTAIN LARS Archie Watson Pierre-Louis Jamin (5)
90 3. PEGGIE SUE Adam West Toby Eley (5)
90 4. BELLEVARDE Richard Price Poppy Bridgwater (3)
