Our penultimate flat meet with just Nottingham on today….there’s Timeform for Chepstow below for those looking early at the NH. Yesterday we managed some small beer about Richard Fahey’s Right Action who claimed that 3rd paying slot behind the winner and Jason Hart on Parys Mountain the 7/4 favourite who did it all from the front.

Elsewhere, at Newcastle on the AW – a maiden we have had our eye on goes in the 18.40. The Bull is a 6 race maiden but Ben Haslam’s charge ran well on last turf appearance when running well from a poor draw to place at Catterick. Since he has finished above mid division in both his AW runs and at around 10’s looks like a small play for those looking for a small nibble outside of our members bet.

We have just one for members below……

The bank is now just shy of £4000 for those on the £1k to £10k challenge….and grown to nearly 300% with an ROI of over 26%….current stakes at 1.25% are now £47.75 EW

12.55 Velindre Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (5) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated
110 1. MERE ANARCHY Robert Stephens Mitchell Bastyan
109 3. KAPGA DE LILY Venetia Williams Hugh Nugent (6)
108 11. SLAYING THE DRAGON Nigel Hawke Tom Buckley (10)

Analyst’s Verdict:
It’s hard to equate what Kapga de Lily achieved when landing a 4-runner novice at Haydock in March and she’s been absent since, but the handicapper may have taken a big risk with her mark on this early switch to handicaps. Head Lad improved on last month’s reappearance and is a definite threat, with Auenwirbel also considered.

1.25 Aspen Waite Complete Business Growth Service ‘National Hunt’ Maiden Hurdle (4) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated
126p 16. MEEP MEEP Tom Lacey Tom Scudamore
116+ 12. TEDHAM Jonjo O’Neill Nick Scholfield
112p 3. DAYDREAM AULMES Graeme McPherson Adam Wedge

Analyst’s Verdict:
The Big Bite was far from disgraced in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival despite failing to settle, and he is fancied to make his mark over hurdles at the first attempt. Harambe is another good prospect, while Meep Meep seems sure to build on a promising opening effort in this sphere.

2.00 Prichards Supporting Velindre Handicap Chase (4) 2m7f131y

Timeform Top Rated
127p 6. WHIN PARK Ben Pauling Richard Johnson
126+ 5. OUR REWARD Jamie Snowden Jack Quinlan
124 8. CLONDAW RIGGER Katy Price Ben Poste

Analyst’s Verdict:
Whin Park confirmed previous promise when winning at Ludlow last month and he appeals as the type to carrying on progressing. Our Reward and Clondaw Rigger head the dangers.

2.35 Siteserv Recycling Ltd Supporting Velindre Handicap Hurdle (Qualifier) (3) 2m7f131y

Timeform Top Rated
137 3. SETTIMO MILANESE Dr Richard Newland Charlie Hammond (5)
135 6. THE WELSH PADDIES Kerry Lee Richard Johnson
134 13. LATE SHIPMENT Nikki Evans Robert Williams (3)

Analyst’s Verdict:
Settimo Milanese is yet another to thrive upon moving to Richard Newland, landing back-to-back maiden/ novice events prior to a solid second at Aintree last month, finding only another improver too strong. Operating from the same mark he looks sure to go well again. Django Django, Judge Earle and Royal Claret are others to consider.

3.10 Holt JCB Ltd Supporting Velindre Chase (Novices’ Limited Handicap) (3) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated
135p 11. BALIBOUR Emma Lavelle Patrick Cowley (5)
133 9. ENOLA GAY Venetia Williams Gavin Sheehan
127+ 12. FLORESCO Kayley Woollacott James Best

Analyst’s Verdict:
Balibour was beaten only by a pair of race-fit rivals when third on his chase debut at Kempton on return and tops the shortlist with improvement forthcoming. The Dubai Way, Glen Rocco and Awake At Midnight also need considering.

3.40 Skiptons Supporting Velindre Maiden Hurdle (5) 2m3f100y

Timeform Top Rated
141 9. SAMBURU SHUJAA Philip Hobbs Richard Johnson
140 13. TOSSAPENNY Evan Williams Adam Wedge
123 6. FORTUNES HIDING Peter Bowen Sean Bowen

Analyst’s Verdict:
Kateson reached a high level in bumpers last season and can make a successful start to his hurdling career but there are a few possible dangers in what has the look of a warm race. Samburu Shujaa and Tossapenny both achieved fairly useful form last term and should figure, while Drumlee Water is an interesting contender on the back of his point win. Casko d’Airy also needs a betting check.

4.15 Bowen Contracting Ltd & Bryn Group Supporting Velindre Standard Open National Hunt Flat (5) 2m11y

Timeform Top Rated
125p 3. BALLETICON Kim Bailey Mikey Hamill (3)
110 7. DONTCOUNTURCHIKENS David Dennis Sam Twiston-Davies

Analyst’s Verdict:
This looks a deep bumper with plenty of the top yards represented. Balleticon might be able to make his experience count having made a pleasing debut in a Southwell bumper back in May. Deadringerforlove, Archirondel, Silver Forever and Shang Tang are among the interesting newcomers.
