We just got pipped in the last 100 yards for another decent priced winner as our 11/1 selection, Chickenfortea was headed at the death –  still it left us with some profit on the day and we head of into Wednesday with a meet at Ponty and supporting Timeform below.

At that meet, (16.50) Fingal’s Cave was subject of a gamble yesterday in the race where we had our place with Chickentfortea – connections look to be aiming to recoup some losses on that one and on offer around 7’s.

Long term members will recall the success we had about Billy Roberts at a big price 2 years back – he’s out on a belated seasonal debut under Jason Hart in the (15.20), possibly 50p EW on that one as he owes us nowt – he won here on seasonal turf debut at 25’s last year so a decent run isn’t out of the question.

Watchmyeverymove looked a useful prospect when beating 15 rivals to make a winning debut at Windsor and is taken to defy a penalty. Ventura Ocean disappointed last time but his debut form is backed up by the timefigure so he still rates the biggest threat.

Zeshov returned to form from an easing mark when third up against a couple of well-treated sorts at Musselburgh 5 weeks ago and could be about to end his losing run. Beverley Bullet was back to his very best when just denied at Beverley last week and is the obvious threat, while the unexposed Little Jo also makes the shortlist after his excellent comeback at Newcastle.

Classic Pursuit arrives here in top form, and though he has a double penalty to shoulder, the fact he has landed stall 1 should ensure he will take some pegging back. Bondi Beach Boy is berthed next door and has scope to do better for his new yard.

First Flight’s effort over C&D 19 days ago is easy to forgive given he was held up in a steadily-run affair, and there’s little doubt that he’s well weighted nowadays, particularly if a recent wind operation helps his cause. Alejandro is solid at this level, with Rockwood another to consider.
