It feels like a Saturday with the number of meets but essentially for the flat it’s down to Bath, Beverley, Windsor and a high quality looking card at Naas with speed ratings for that one below.

Bath is the usual dross C6 and looking at Windsor, the card mostly feature ‘first time outers’ but odd one to see Simon Crisford’s First Selection going in a C3 handicap there. Two years back he was 7th in the 2000 Guineas won by Galileo and won a G3 as a juvenile. He was a staying on 2nd LTO at Lingfield and potentially class should tell so maybe one for you lumpers with a best 11/4 available at press in the 16.20.

At Beverley, the 16.50 features Society Red who we backed for a place at Ponty LTO – he offers no EW value for our members who like to back our selections on a ‘next three outings’ basis. He renews running against one who we mentioned we would also be following in that race, Dawaaleeb a big, Invincible Spirit horse taken from the Charlie Hills yard who progressed steadily throughout his three-year-old campaign. He ran a cracker at Newcastle to win first time out on the AW after being absent since October. A turf maiden, he has now placed three times but again offers no EW value with a best 4’s on offer in this 16 runner.

The 15.40 is a wide open 16 runner, favourite Tadaany gets a favoured low draw and conditions seem ideal for this one who likes to race up with the pace. He has won off a rating of 80 in Ireland and 74 at Ayr – currently off 66 is potentially well handicapped, though again it’s too short for us with just 5’s on offer.

Members notes are below and we’ll be back to a regular time of before 8.00am in the morning with an update.

It’s Thirsk & Brighton tomorrow but really looking forward to the Chester Cup meeting this week……as ever, please drop us a line at feedback@always-back-winners.com with any questions…..

1.40 Coolmore No Nay Never Irish European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden 6f

Analyst’s Verdict:
This will probably be a hot maiden and the ability Mater Matuta showed on debut when second to a smart Ballydoyle newcomer should be enough to see her take this with improvement coming. Ryan Moore rides Fairyland of Aidan O’Brien’s trio and she has to be respected along with Gossamer Wings under the Guineas-winning rider Donnacha O’Brien.

Timeform Top Rated:
99p 5. MATER MATUTA J. S. Bolger K. J. Manning
88p 6. MINTD W. McCreery William James Lee
73 10. SPEIRLING OPHELIA James M. Barrett G. M. Ryan (7)

2.10 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 6f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Ballydoyle hold a strong hand and Van Beethoven is taken to build on his Newmarket debut third now stepped up in trip and open his account. Stablemate North Wind has plenty going for him, while Pride of Pimlico, a winner first time up over 5f here as the season began, should be in the mix again.

Timeform Top Rated:
98p 6. VAN BEETHOVEN Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
91 1. PRIDE OF PIMLICO Brendan Duke K. J. Manning

2.45 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Polonia Stakes (Listed) 5f110y

Analyst’s Verdict:
Different League failed to meet expectations on her stable debut but the fact she went off such a short price suggests she’d been showing the right signs at home and she’s worth another chance. Golden Spell was better than ever when scoring in handicap company at Navan last time and was placed twice at this level last season. Recent Bath listed scorer Mrs Gallagher completes the shortlist.

Timeform Top Rated:
121 2. DIFFERENT LEAGUE Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
119 10. GOLDEN SPELL John Patrick Murtagh Shane Foley
118 15. NOW YOU’RE TALKING Joseph Patrick O’Brien Donnacha O’Brien

3.20 Caragh Nurseries Handicap 5f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Rattling Jewel returns for new trainer Joseph O’Brien off a mark 10 lb lower than when notching the second of 2 wins at a similar time last year and it’s well worth taking a chance that she bounces back to form. Miss Power progressed into a useful performer last term and should go well on her return, while Enter The Red was successful when last seen in the autumn.

Timeform Top Rated:
108+ 5. RATTLING JEWEL Joseph Patrick O’Brien W. M. Lordan
107 3. MISS POWER Edward Lynam R. P. Downey (3)
107 8. DOONARD PRINCE Ross O’Sullivan K. J. Leonard (3)

3.55 Coolmore Camelot Irish European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes (Group 2) 1¼m

Analyst’s Verdict:
Cliffs of Moher faded to finish last of 5 in the Alleged here last month but is expected to strip fitter with that run behind him and can turn the tables on Beautiful Morning and Yucatan who were ahead of him in third and fourth on that occasion.

133 1. CLIFFS OF MOHER Aidan O’Brien Ryan Moore
130 4. SUCCESS DAYS K. J. Condon Shane Foley
126 3. RENNETI W. P. Mullins C. D. Hayes

4.30 Coolmore Mastercraftsman Irish European Breeders Fund Athasi Stakes (Group 3) 7f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Yulong Gold Fairy picked up where she left off when an excellent second in a Group 3 Guineas trial and that is the best form on offer. She may have most to fear from Xenobia and Lightening Quick.

Timeform Top Rated:
111p 6. YULONG GOLD FAIRY D. K. Weld L. F. Roche
109 1. XENOBIA W. T. Farrell William James Lee
102p 5. LIGHTENING QUICK G. M. Lyons C. T. Keane B

5.05 Coolmore Zoffany Irish European Breeders Fund Tetrarch Stakes (Listed) 7f

Analyst’s Verdict:
Imaging’s second to Gustav Klimt in the Leopardstown 2000 Guineas Trial wasn’t really advertised by that rival at Newmarket, but he still sets a very good standard in this class. The wheels rather came off Brother Bear’s 2-y-o career but he could easily get back on track, with London Icon another to consider.

Timeform Top Rated:
125 3. IMAGING D. K. Weld Declan McDonogh
116? 1. BROTHER BEAR Mrs J. Harrington C. O’Donoghue
115 6. ROMANISED K. J. Condon Shane Foley

5.35 Royal Ascot Trials Day May 20th Handicap 1m

Analyst’s Verdict:
Lucky Mistake was probably an unlucky loser at Clonmel on Thursday so could easily gain compensation turned out quickly from the same mark. Warnaq and Zorion head the opposition.

Timeform Top Rated:
110+ 12. LUCKY MISTAKE A. P. Keatley S. M. Crosse (10)
109 9. TONY THE GENT G. M. Lyons C. T. Keane
108 11. AUSSIE VALENTINE Adrian McGuinness Shane Foley
