Ascot holds the Shergar Cup meet and looking there the only ones on our radar are Mark Johnston's Bayshore Freeway who is upped in class in this one (15.25) and holds EW claims. In the (16.00) John Quinn's Shaheen goes under Fran Berry and also Nigel Tinkler's Roundhay Park - NT is smashing it up with his 3yo's at the moment but neither offer any real EW value.Read more →

Despite evening meetings at HQ and Haydock it looks like we're back to numerous cards with under eight runners that is really disappointing with our approach. We don't really want to get involved in 10 runner C6's at Brighton or Musselburgh - the only one we had of note was Mark Johnston's Poetic Steps in the (15.00) down on the south coast, and again that's likely to be under 4's......we'll keep our powder dry for the weekend :)Read more →

At Sandown, Mark Johnston takes one of his 3 year olds town for a tilt in the (20.15)....Illusional is up against the strong looking Stoute favourite, Whitehall with Ryan Moore up top. However this one put a good shift in at Newmarket before being undone at the start at Chester LTO. There's some expectation from Illusional with many of his line being rated 100+. In all probability needs a bit more cut than this though he holds solid EW claims at wipes yer face prices under SDS in this.Read more →

We just got pipped in the last 100 yards for another decent priced winner as our 11/1 selection, Chickenfortea was headed at the death -  still it left us with some profit on the day and we head of into Wednesday with a meet at Ponty with supporting Timeform below.Read more →

Catterick, Newbury, Nottingham and Ayr to consider today.....previous selection Christmas Night has been knocking on the door in most of his races and goes in the (17.15) at Catterick. This represents a slight drop in class, though the wide draw leaves him a bit to do round the sharp bend and the best wipes yer face 9/2 is hardly value in a 13 runner. He will have to travel all the way around the pack to do his normal front running and something like Twylight from Tim Easterby's stable could pick him off at the finish?Read more →

Yesterday's members selection, Berlusca was just one outside the places, finishing 4th at Chester advised at 16's and won by the Tom Dascombe favourite. Today there's just one meet on the afternoon at Ripon and a couple of evening meetings with a pro-am ladies card at Carlisle and a regular Windsor Monday nighter. The first race of the day (14.30) sees Sienna Says go in a seller at Ripon - despite being a long term maiden we'd noted he running well both here and at Thirsk from the wrong side of the draw.Read more →

Absolutely gutted we missed out on Crazy Tornado last night - we'd been watching him drop the weights on the fast surfaces and were honestly waiting for a mile on this surface. Last night as we said he had a poor draw and had never stayed the extended mile previously..........arghhh!! :(:( Today sees a nice meet at Chester with a couple of handicaps at the back end of the afternoon and we'll be having a look at a big priced EW shot in one of those for members.Read more →

With no selections yesterday let's crack straight onto the Saturday cards.....of course the feature is Goodwood's final day but we have most of the meet and today will be no exception. The highlight from our point of view (watching) would be the (15.40) Unibet Steward's Cup (Heritage Handicap) with near 30 going to post....perhaps from our perspective some value could be had about Justanotherbottle who really got done at Ascot when drawn on the wrong side of the track.Read more →
